This training makes learning available to you in the comfort of your own home. This is a self-paced training. The training is broken down into modules, each with videos and presentations.
We offer our educators tools and education to promote and market their business, including being added to our provider list on the Birth Beautifully website.
The training provides you with a curriculum, workbook for your clients, PowerPoint presentation, including birth videos and presentation notes. Everything you need to start teaching!
This is the same core curriculum as the live Birth Beautifully childbirth class. The topics discussed are:
- Common Discomforts
- Stages of labor
- Positions for labor
- Labor support
- Interventions and informed consent
- Newborn care
- Postpartum care
- Transition to parenthood
- Cloth diapering
If a training workshop comes to an area near you, you may attend day two (“mock” training day) for an additional fee of $50
BBCEs also have a private Facebook page for educators only, to gain knowledge and feedback from other BBCEs. There is no additional charge for certification and no requirement for membership or recertification. Once you have completed all the requirements you will be eligible to apply for certification as a Birth Beautifully Childbirth Educator.
Chris Herrera’s passion for birth began with the homebirth of her first son. With more than 13 years of extensive experience, she is proud to have helped hundreds of women and families. Chris brings experience, unbiased information, and reliable care to her clients. Her approach to birth always aims for compassion and adaptability since every woman is unique and important.
Chris is a DONA certified birth doula since 2006 and is the owner of the CNY Doula Connection. Chris has continued to add to her professional trainings and certifications by becoming a postpartum doula, lactation counselor, childbirth educator, certified placenta encapsulation specialist, labor and postpartum acupressure certified, Rebozo and Belly Binding trained, and licensed to offer massage therapy. Chris’ most rewarding accomplishments in her career has been the start of her certifiable training workshop for aspiring childbirth educators and has written “Birth Beautifully’s Educated Childbirth,” a childbirth education course manual for expecting families.
Chris resides outside of Syracuse, NY with her husband of 17 years and their three beautiful children, and one very spoiled pug.
